June Tarot * International Surfing Day * Surfer

The surfer sits at equilibrium between father sky and our mother ocean, and at mind’s eye between our air mind and our water body of emotion. In every wave we ride there is an emanation from the deep unconscious of the sea. With her ancient wisdoms encoded upon our very souls, the surfer is a “return to balance,” and a healing unto this water planet as her unsuspecting envoy, and as watermen and women. Surfing in turn, is an “in kind” offering in hopes that we may edify our relationship with the ocean divine and bring that (loving) divinity into our everyday lives. We live to learn of our love, for our mother ocean.

We “live to surf, and surf to live,” and as “only a surfer knows the feeling.” As surfrider, we are stoked and ocean minded. As itinerant beach bedouin, we are party to an international good vibe tribe, and “grateful to be a surfer.” The surf cult and subsequent or requisite beach culture is a lifestyle, and a way of life unto itself. “It’s not my life, it’s my wife.” Surfing is good direction, and the ocean good medicine.

Surfer * man of cups * Voyager Tarot by James Wanless * Way of the Great Oracle

Maintain your emotional equilibrium. Surf thru and beyond the storms of anger and waves of fear. Go with the flow. Retain your balance and find your rhythm with things. Be flexible and opportunistic enough to take advantage of the emotional energies while maintaining your own center. Have the courage to explore deep and different feelings. Be an emo risk taker. Dare to ride scary feelings. Real eyes that in this state of openness and trust, that you will experience the ecstasy of living. Take of what the wave and this life have to give you. Touch upon her ocean of love, and as the girl in the curl, listen unto her chamber orchestra. As wild iris, touch upon the (violet) wisdom of your crown chakra. As soul majestic, recall that the true king wears no crown, and that it all comes out in the backwash.
