Use less stuff day * nothing in excess * Death/13 * Devil’s Play/15 * Emperor/4

Half callin’ the proverbial kettle black here as am a driver of a mini van, not to mention that I can empty a bag of (Santa Barbara) hickory smoked pistachios in no short order, and as chaser to usually not one, but two oversized oatmeal choco chip cookies, and most every time I step into my local health food store. And despite that I am no exception to the rule, I do refer to myself as a preferred vegetarian, wear a whole lotta hemp/og cotton clothing, and ditto for eating predominately og foods, and do my best to steer clear of processed and any gmo foods. Was also a carless Santana for a coupla few years or more, once upon a time in San Diego.

And the reason I bring all this up, is that eye was caught by surprise while watching the opening act for Rising Appalachia in neighboring Berkeley the other week. The woman in question and of merit, began by sharing of the story of her one song, ‘bout on the road to Standing Rock and to protest against the DAPL (Dakota Access Pipe Line), only to right follow that up with a plug for her “merch,” and to exhalt of us that every little bit helps, including putting gas in her S-U-V. :O

What I also didn’t know, is that as most of us might be familiar with the leading tenet over the gates at the Temple of Delphi, as “know thyself,” eye wonder how many of us are familiar with the second bit of wisdom to be had there, as in “nothing in excess ?” Is it not our American habit to excess in and of itself, that destroys the very principle ??

Remain extra ordinary. Intuit your way, be into it. Plant a garden and/or a tree. Reduce, reuse, recycle. Sing in circle and dance your prayer. Get on the mat and realign with the divine.

meditation with James Wanless

Wise peoples share the love of two things: meditation and a love of nature.

ps. if you ever need a lyft, do have a Sienna and will travel, and as “the road to excess (well) leads to the palace of wisdom.”

Cut away excess, simplify, get to the core essence.

Let go of outlived emotional attachments, of feelings from the past that have kept you confined. Release your feelings thru expressing them. Let your emotions out. Purify yourself.

Shed impurities out of the body. Liquid fast. Release tensions. Relax. Let go.

Devil’s Play * fifteen * Voyager Tarot by James Wanless * Way of the Great Oracle

Caution against (being) undisciplined, expanding beyond your means, going overboard, stepping too far, and/or self destruction.

Emperor * Devil's Play * Voyager Tarot by James Wanless

Emperor * four * Voyager Tarot by James Wanless * Way of the Great Oracle

Pushing the body to extremes. High blood pressure. Heart attack.

Overly competitive, ruthless, power hungry, insecure. Treats others as objects, pawns, tools. Overextended. Burned out. Does not finish what is started. Obsessed with fame and fortune.
