the journey of the fool * the way cannot be revealed * disappointment

After twentysomething years of reading cards, I can honestly say I really know very little of the Tarot. I could proffer that I have reason to suspect it as a journey of initiation, and with the end game being the liberation of the soul, and that the pyramids are a star map of the sky over the course of a year, and that from that said pyramidal landscape and vantage point, that there may well be an astrological reference point of sorts, to be had somewhere and in some way, and in relation to the reading of Tarot.

Am also taken by the notion that the permutations of two dice total 21, and that three dice have 56 permutations, remarkably alike to the major and minor arcanas. Will also concede to suspecting the dice as the source of the Tarot energetic, as the four sided die came from an ankle bone, and with the desire to better determine of the four directions, and as they may be deemed via divination. The top and bottom were later added, as above and below.

Another thing I like about the dice story or origin is that the ankle bone is symbolic of going and/or moving forward, and its impinging upon as symbolic of terror and/or fright.

Other sidebars of note and/or intrigue are the 56 Aubrey holes at Stonehenge, apparently analogous to predicting/specific solar and/or lunar eclipses ?? The Orion constellation apparently has 78 stars to it, and the Fibonacci sequence has the number 21, along with 55 (21 + 34, not quite 56, unless you add in the Fool), and our alphabet has but 21 consonants to it (26 – the five vowels).

No doubt, and not unlike the bible, there is a mathematical and/or sacred geometry foundation to the Tarot, and of which is fairly beyond me at the moment, or at least when last I read of the Kaballah and Eliphas Levi.

Have we figured things out yet or is there (still) much to be revealed ??

disappointment * five of cups * Voyager Tarot by James Wanless * Way of the Great Oracle

Our disappointment reveals our state of spiritual maturity, and is the result of our emotional attachment to an expectation that is unfulfilled. The broken heart of disappointment leads to physical fatigue and illness, and a loss of spiritual vitality. Emotional disappointment creates passivity, as we feel a loss of emotional vitality, and feel dried up, stagnant and run down. We are low on reserves, and feel finished and done for, and dead to the world. We feel let down and betrayed, and are perhaps ready to write that dear John letter afterall. As promise dies our disillusionment feeds our fears, sorrow and anger, and our now waning hopes and dreams. We are afraid to be found out, and fear that we may well be living a lie. We fear that we are no longer of use nor value, and that an outcome of sadness and heartache is all but guaranteed.

Emotionally co dependent is no way to go thru life. As the hierophant, we are wizened and free of attachment to expectations. We live in the moment and are accepting and at peace with the outcome. We know thought creates and see disappointment as our emotional barometer, and as we live not for any expected nor hoped for outcome. We stay grounded and real eyes that beauty and success grow out of being down 2 earth, and that thru it all, she is still there for us.

Recolor your black and white outlook on things. When you look up and see the mirror as cracked upon the question of who is the fairest of them all, and you feel but a shard of your former self, and have next to nothing to your name, consider to look back down to your feet, and perhaps see of her most sacred story lying right before you within the rubble and ruins.

Consider to keep your appointment with her. Afterall she asks is that you show up, face the music, and see things for what they are. Accept that you may still have a part to play in things, and that there may in fact, still be much to be revealed.

Life is a love story, and your song her lantern.
